The Malaghan Institute is New Zealand’s leading medical research institute focused on finding cures for cancer, asthma and allergy, multiple sclerosis and infectious disease. Dr Olivier Gasser, Dr Tiffany Bouchery and Dr Alexander Smith are based at this world-renowned medical facility here in Wellington and between then they aim to re-train our immune systems to fight off cancer and other diseases through the use of vaccines.
PIVOT were commissioned by Capital Magazine to step inside the aseptic otherworld of these talented scientists to document the clinical spaces they inhabit, the tools of the trade and something of the incredibly complex process that is undertaken to break ground in their field.
